Crucial System Scanner

Crysis: Warhead:

And now, to my favorite part of the testing, the Crysis: Warhead bench.  This bench makes or breaks video cards,  and I am very interested to see how the HD5770 stacks up against the HD4890 in this test.

Both GPUs ran through the same sequence that we have been running for the last year.  Each run consisted of multiple resolutions and AA settings, so that we could get a good feel as to how well the cards scaled.  All other settings were maxed out.  Click the pictures for a larger version.

It would seem that the Crysis test puts the nail in the coffin that the HD5770 is on the same level as the HD4890 in terms of performance.  In the Crysis bench, the HD4890 beats out the HD5770 by 17% pretty much across the board.  Once we hit the 2560x1600 resolution test, the 1GB frame buffer on the HD5770 runs out of juice, and the HD4890 pulls an even larger lead.  I would say at this point that the HD5770 is more like an HD4870, thanks to the crippled memory bus.

2560, 8x 6.4 14.84 11.38 0 10.7 6.55

For this test, the sweet spot is in the 1680x1050 resolution, probably at 4xAA, though Crysis really wants something a bit more beefy to run with all the settings cranked.
