Sapphire HD4890 1GB Atomic PCI-e Video Card

While Sapphire has an affinity for black and blue, the packaging of the Atomic is different in that it utilizes chrome with an orange logo reminiscent of the atom symbol.  While the previous incarnations of the Atomic package used a very nice aluminum case, the HD4890 Atomic has reverted to the more standard paper and cardboard approach, this time made to emulate the aluminum box.

The interior of the box is laid out identically to that of the Toxic edition card.  Well packed, with foam filling the gaps and the card sitting in the bag.  Very snug.

One thing you are going to start noticing about the Atomic Edition is that it is a lot like the Toxic Edition.  All of the physical characteristics are identical to the Toxic, except for the sticker.

The Atomic Edition also carries the 8-pin and 6-pin power connectors, compared to the dual 6-pin connectors of the default HD4890 setup.

The top side of the card reveals the sexy lines of three heatpipes, much like the exposed exhaust lines of a muscle car.

The back of the card is also laid out just like the Toxic, and has the same mounting holes as all other reference 4890s and 4870s.

One difference between the Toxic and Atomic Editions is the bundle; in this case the Atomic also includes a nice five foot long HDMI cable.  Also included but not shown are copies of 3DMark Vantage, a driver CD, a paper manual, CyberLink PowerDVD, and CyberLink DVD Suite.
