Time Demos:

Finally, the last batch of tests will include our in-game time demos.  For this suite, we will be comparing Devil May Cry 4, Unreal Tournament 3, and finally Crysis.

Devil May Cry 4:

Devil May Cry 4 is a new benchmark based on the game of the same name from Capcom.  For this test, we use the highest settings possible for each card, with 16x AA on both the 4870X2 and the 280.  Click the images below for the full size image:

GTX-280 @ 1680x1050:

HD 4870X2 @ 1680x1050:

GTX-280 @ 1920x1200:

HD 4870X2 @ 1920x1200:

As we can see from the above screenshots, there is just no competition for the 4870X2 here.

Unreal Tournament 3:

Our next test involves a level flythrough for the Unreal Tournament 3 vehicle CTF map "Corruption".  Testing was done with DX10 mode turned off, at 1920x1200 with all settings maxed.

Here the 280 pulls a commanding 20FPS lead, which equates to a 16% lead.  It would be interesting to see an explanation of the turnaround here.
