The AVerTV offers four quality settings; Best, Better, Good and Fair.

     This will give you an idea of what kind of space will be taken up at each setting.  Once you have the show recorded to your hard drive you can watch it whenever you want or transfer it to a DVD.  The device also allows you to record from anything else hooked up to it.  You can plug in a VCR, Camcorder or anything else that uses composite or S-video.  Now I can put all of those home movies on DVD.  Not those kind of home movies, perv.

     This is probably my favorite use though.  There's nothing quite like watching TV and surfing the internet on a large screen LCD.

Conclusion

     This is an excellent product.  It saved me from purchasing a much more expensive video card with a TV tuner.  The price of this device is typical to other USB TV Tuners that I priced.  I had some minor installation problems but once that was sorted out the device ran perfectly.  I think this device would be perfect for a college student living in the dorms.  To save money the student would only need a computer and not a computer and separate TV.  Overall I'm very happy with the AVerTV MCE and it deserves the ClubOC seal of approval.
