Crysis

Everyone has an opinion on Crysis.....and my opinion is, regardless of what you think of the game play, the game makes a killer benchmark.  For Quadfire testing, we follow a similar test methodology as the 4870 X2, only in this case, we are limiting the testing to 1680x1050 and 1920x1200.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of all, the one test that has consistently been poor for ATi has actually the biggest results for actual in game testing.  Not that it means a whole lot, since the other games have zero Quadfire scaling.  In the case of Crysis, the scaling improves as the resolution and AA is increased, giving us a best case scenario of 0% change in minimum frame rate, 7.7% increase in average frame rate, and just shy of 25% in the maximum frame rate.  It is better, but not what I would consider ideal. 

Overclocking the CPU helps too, putting us just over 35FPS for 1920/8xAA, and just under 50 FPS for maximum frame rate.  Refer to the data table below for exact figures:
