     The Pertelian X2040 comes with everything you need.  The package includes, the LCD screen, stand, velcro fastening strips and a CD.  The CD includes the driver, software and user manual.  Of course, I recommend looking at the pertelian website to get the latest driver, software and manual.  The USB cable is 6' long, enough to put the X2040 just where you want it.

Installation

     Installation was extremely easy.  I just plugged the cable into an empty USB port and install the driver disk.  I used the X2040 on Windows XP Professional and Windows Vista Home Premium.  In Vista, I needed to run the program as an administrator so some of the plug-ins could access the registry.

Software

     The Pertelian software is very simple to use.  It loads into the system tray and you don't need to access it after you've gone through the initial setup.  Initial setup only involves loading your email server, Ebay information, zip code for weather, etc.  You will not have to configure it to locate the LCD, that should happen automatically.

     As you can see the software is pretty simple to use and to customize just the way you want it.  We'll talk about some of the plug-ins on the next page.
