Features

Never one to cut corners, the MCW6000 is a thing of beauty. The lack of 1/2in lines was the first thing I was thinking would hamper the performance of this block.

"Exceptional quality and attention to details: the base is lapped flat to 0.0005", and polished to near-mirror finish to promote optimum thermal conductivity" Yeah, what they said...

A view of the kit reveals that everything you need for installation is included minus the tube insert for 1/2 inch OD vinyl tubing which can be found here on Swiftech's site.

Installation & Performance

One of the nice things that Swiftech has over its competitors is the ease of installation. Of course I have looked at Swiftech's installed kits before and questioned the flow of their quick fittings and assorted bleed systems, but so far our previous Swiftech water cooling review, the MCW5000-P functions just fine and is still more than able to maintain excellent cooling that is competitive. For our setup, I think it took a total of 20 minutes to install this block into my existing cooling arrangment despite the indifferent 1/2 tubing. Using some tubing inserts for 1/2in tubing left over from our MCW50T review  we installed the MCW6000 onto our P4 setup, filled it up with some Fluid XP+, and after about 5 minutes of bleeding the system, we were good to go for testing. Our test setup is as follows:

Foxconn 865PE
Intel Pentium 4 2.4c@2760mhz default vcore
Danger Den water cooling featuring a BIX2 micro Radiator, Sunon 2x80mm fans, Maze 4 GPU block, P4 Z-Block (chipset), D-4 pump.
OCZ PC-4200EL 2x512mb
FIC Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb
Lian Li PCV-2000 Full-Tower case
Artic Silver SX-5 paste

Final Thoughts

Have you ever seen such a small temperature threshold? I have never seen such a small difference between idle and load temperatures in my entire career of overclocking. There is one small explanation for this, and its reflected from Swiftech's overall design that actually is quite simple. Hold the water inside the block without hampering overall flow. Despite its 3/8in input and output's the MCW6000 is more than adequate for just about anyone. Once again Swiftech has concurred to its own purpose to provide an excellent cooling solution, and at a low cost to the Overclocker! Good Job Swiftech!!
