Performance

The Mach II GT was expected to be a stunning performer, and it was. The only problem we had was once again with our components. Even with a DC kit of PC-5000 from OCZ, and a DFI Ultra D Lanparty the best we could muster was 3025mhz using the 11x multiplier, and 3000 using 10x. It was clear as day that the problem was lying with our processor that would just a brick wall at 3Ghz. We are quite certain that we could achieve better results if it weren't for the questionable cold-boot problem that plagues AMD's newer CPU cores. For us, a processor purchase is deemed unnecessary for another 100 mhz or so. More benchmarks can be found in our DFI Ultra-D review

2991 after 2 hrs proved to be stable. its unbelievable the amount of stability compared to the Vapochill. It would be nice if we had a better cpu!

Conclusion

If we had the chance to have a sit-down in AMD's factory to test CPU's that would be a good thing. Nonetheless, the Mach II GT delivers a much better package than that of the Vapochill, especially under load. We did have kind of a problem with the blacked-out look of the Mach II GT in comparison to the Vapochill, but function clearly beats out looks when you're using phase change, plus with the optional Lian-Li kit looks won't be a problem. We are more than happy in the aspect that the Mach II GT has operated for well over this review deadline. Almost three months of reliable operation at 2900Mhz or more is certainly something to brag about for E.C.T.! The Mach II GT is a must have for just about anyone, and the ease of installation is a big plus. Sure it's expensive, but when you take into consideration the money you'll save buying lower-speed CPU's within a 2-3 period it basically pays for itself. The Mach II GT is a must have!
