Jetart continued....

A pretty cool fill bottle even comes with the kit. The cool thing about this item is that we can use it for all our test bed water-cooling maintenance's... :)

As you can see, the AK-1000 is of external design, and is a nice aesthetic addition to your system. Bragging rights are always a big plus around typical air-cooled arrangements where the owners are terrified of water-cooling.. You're bound to get some case awards on a local LAN party level...

Testing

For testing purposes and stick with the consistency of our testing methods, we chose to deviate from the including white paste that our AK-1000 unit came with and use something better by way of Arctic Silver. We also continued our use of SiSoft Sandra's wonderful burn-in utility, and the same test-bed that we've been using for our water-cooling kit reviews, a flaming hot P4 Prescott socket 478.. Our test bed is as follows...

Asus P4C800-E Deluxe
Intel Pentium 4 Prescott 3.0Ghz
Crucial Ballistix PC-3200 Cas 2 memory
Thermal Take 4800W Butterfly PSU
Lian Li PC V-2000 Case
3R Systems WCL-03 for comparison purposes

It looks as though the AK-1000 barely beat out our WCL-03 kit.

The Jetart AK-1000 is a fine kit that is very easy to use and install. With onboard temperature monitoring, LED readout of temps, and its aesthetically pleasing design it comes out a winner. It's its lackluster performance that has us scratching our heads, but its indeed a very quiet contribution to those wanting an alternative to air-cooling. Sure it's not going to beat out a Thermalright HSF with a loud 80mm Delta fan, but think about the stealthy attribute it can give your PC compared to the traditional HSF. With the modification of a better fan, we can see that the AK-1000 would make anyone not familiar to water drool at the sight of it on top of your case. ClubOC recommended in terms of quality, ease of use and installation, and its brightly lit LED display. In terms of performance, well so long as you're not expecting the ultimate overclock and temperatures, the AK-1000 may just fit your needs...
