OCZ GameXStream

It would be very self-defeating if a 700 watt power supply didn't have a plethora of connectors, and the Game X Stream has it all covered.  The cables are all smartly arranged and plenty long, but that length can be a huge nuisance if you're trying to keep your case neat and tidy.   A modular plug system is very handy in this regard, but OCZ has elected not to make this unit modular, in an effort to keep the price down.  Something that all of us can appreciate, especially those looking to build with SLI in mind.

To help minimize the mess, each string of power wires have been wrapped with a nylon mesh. This is a huge bonus considering that most power supply manufacturers only wrap the large 24-pin ATX power connector. To top things off, OCZ put one large Velcro strip in the box to give you a start with Excess Cable Management.

The main ATX connector is broken into the popular 20+4 arrangement. This gives the option of using the power supply on an older system that doesn't have a 24-pin connector. The same goes for the 12-volt auxiliary connector, it has a twin brother that will go with it to mate with the newer motherboards that have two 4-pin connectors, or more common just one 8-pin header.

SLI is supported with a pair of 6-pin PCI Express power connectors.  Even these are marked so you shouldn't (let alone can't) shove these into the wrong power header.

Even the Molex connectors were given a little extra attention. You didn't think you were the only one that has trouble getting one out of the receptacle of a DVD drive did you?  Probably the most frustrating thing about trying to get a machine apart quickly is dealing with a stubborn Molex connector, and these style connectors make that almost disappear. The all-so handy finger grips let you get more leverage on the connector which puts MUCH less stress on the components.  Less stress means you won't be damaging the drives, or the connectors and the ease these work will also lower frustration levels.
