Antec Phantom 500 ATX
Power Supply
Shopping for a power
supply can be very overwhelming! Purchases based on Brand Loyalty might not always lead you to the end
of the rainbow, but you'll probably get a power supply adequate enough for your
needs. While power supplies are made to much higher standards than they were
just two years ago, PC power requirements have also gotten a little more
complex. Serial ATA and PCI-Express require more than a funny shaped
connector, especially if your system is going to be based on either the nVidia
SLI or ATI Crossfire dual graphic cards chipsets. While AMD maintains a list of
Recommended Power supplies, that list is largely broken down by
manufacturer and form factor. Most manufacturers offer dozens of models, each
often mirroring each other in specifications and capabilities.

Antec
has put two more boxes on the retail shelf with The Phantom series which is available
in 350 and 500 watt units. The Phantom series is a quiet
computing product designed with fans that produce less noise. The 300 watt unit
is completely fanless, while the 500 watt Phantom has a single hybrid
80mm fan to provide cooling.
