There are just some
things that can make the job of system assembly easier and this is one of
them. Since all modern motherboards now have a a 24-pin main power connector, it's
nice to see a power supply that doesn't have a split plug in a 20+4
configuration.

A power supply with this much available
power is more than capable of feeding a high performance SLI or Crossfire setup.
With the combination of 2x 8-pin and 2x 6-pin and the supplied 8-pin to 6-pin
adapters, the Ensemble is more than ready to be the power house in your next
gaming box. That's an important feature because there are a few 200 series
cards that do not come with 8-pin PCI-E adapters.

Sure a modern CPU is far more
efficient than a processor of yester-year, these high-end multi-core CPU's have upped
the ante on power demands. While their voltage requirements may be lower, the
amount of actual power (amperage) is still quite demanding. Extra 12volt power
lines have been used on motherboards now for quite some time. The Ensemble comes
equipped with two 4-pin and one 8-pin connectors.

The Ensemble does come with some extra cables that you might find to
be very handy. There are two 8-pin to 6-pin PCI-E adapters
that are only intended
to be used to make an 8-pin cable fit into a 6-pin connector and not
the other way around.

I just
wanted to make sure you got a good up-close picture of the nylon
sleeves. Each strand on the power supply is wrapped in a sleeve
which has got a heavy duty heat shrink on it to make sure it doesn't
come unraveled. For the folks who don't really go the extra distance
to make sure they have clean cable management, consider this a
bonus. But for the rest of us, this will help out a lot when it
comes time to tidy up the wiring.
