Performance

For our performance testing purposes we used the current setup testing under idle and load conditions...

AMD Mobile 2400 Mach I cooled to 2847mhz @2.0v
DFI Infinity Ultra Rev "A"
Lian Li PC-75 aluminum case w/ no side panel
Danger Den Maze 4 water cooled GPU and chipset...

We tested using SiSoft Sandra 2004 SP1, and Motherboard Monitor Ver 5.3.60. MBM was set up using default XP configuration for the DFI Infinity "all revisions" and no temp sensors were modified during the tests. We basically wanted to see what kind of 5v line voltage we would get compared to our tried and true Enermax 465VE in comparison to the Thermaltake.

Sandra

Looks pretty much the same... remember its the 5v line that we're observing. the other voltages will fluctuate according to load more so than the 5v line. Sandra pretty much shows the same voltage.

Motherboard Monitor

Motherboard Monitor seems to monitor the voltage readings a bit better than Sandra. Most likely a result of having a polling adjustment. The Thermaltake Butterfly wins in this test... Notice that we have an actual overvoltage on the 5v line. This is actually a good thing, and resembles a lot of previous soldering that would have to be done to replicate these kinds of voltages..

Conclusion

The Thermaltake Butterfly power supply may have a slightly interesting name, but it does do the job nicely against its competitors. Of course some may disagree that the Enermax that it was tested against is old, and doesn't match up against some of the other PSU's out there. Well I hate to disappoint you, but it has a higher line voltage than any other power supply I have personally run up against at this high of an overclock. Nothing even came close until now. As far as price goes, this entire kit is less that some PSUs of the same power rating that come with no accessories at all. Thermaltake has not only just taken the PSU crown according to this reviewer, but they did it with a little pizzazz and style by giving us a modified power supply that shows its colors not just in the performance department, but its a damn good-looking piece of computer hardware, and I have a small movie to download to prove it..

This power supply comes ClubOC highly recommended as a must buy! Great Job Thermaltake!!
