The other night I saw a news clip reporting that sales of notebooks now exceed desktops. I never thought I would see the day, but over the years notebooks have become more complex, more powerful and at the same time have become less expensive. The only thing that hasn't changed is they still get extremely hot. But what can you do? Modifying a notebook isn't really an option like it is with desktop systems. You can't exactly install a bigger or better heatsink and adding water cooling is...well...completely impractical. So what's left? Basically, the only easy way is to introduce extra cooling underneath the notebook. We've taken a look at several notebook coolers and they all have one thing in common, they are not very portable at all. In fact carrying around a notebook cooler is almost like caring around a lighter version of your notebook. Today the people at Jetart want to change the way we feel about notebook coolers by introducing their portable and lightweight NP8000 notebook cooler.

The Jetart NP8000 only measures in at 320 x 100 x 21.5 mm and weighs only 260 grams. Sure it adds to all the notebook accessories you already lug around with you, but if keeping your notebook cooler means longer life and better performance than one extra device is worth it.

The NP8000 has a single 2300 rpm cooling fan that only produces about 20dBA of noise. No be honest, I can barely hear it run over my Dell notebook. The single fan simply blows cooler air onto the bottom of the notebook to help keep the notebook cooler.

The bottom of the cooler hides the USB power cord as well as 2 plastic legs that fold out to put the notebook at a more comfortable typing position.

Here we see the legs extended and the USB cable unwrapped.

On top of the cooler are 2 rubber stabilizers that fold out to help hold your notebook firmly in place while typing. To my surprise, these little rubber feet work very well as long as you are using the notebook on a sturdy flat surface such as a desk or table.

Here we have a picture of the NP8000 is use. Jetart has kept the device extremely simple so there is no USB hub or card readers to be found.

One thing some people may not like about the NP8000 is its aggressive angle. However I'm all about ergonomics and like a good keyboard angle when typing.

Conclusion

The Jetart NP8000 notebook cooler isn't the best notebook cooler we've looked at, nor does it have the high quality feel of similar products that are made out of aluminum. However the NP8000 is one of the more compact and lightweight notebook cooling devices you'll find. The NP8000 is an extremely simple and straightforward design that is easy to use and very bank account friendly at only $10.99 each. Unfortunately, you may have to wait a while before you see these in the USA. To sum it up,  the Jetart NP8000 is a good, no frills, compact notebook cooler that does the job without breaking the bank.
