Features Some
of the best aspects about the Soltek board is what you get for your
money. Such things like 8-channel audio, digital SPDIF in & out,
Firewire, SATA RAID 5, etc. Even the software included is feature packed
with value. Of course you don't get any free games, but I wouldn't put
it past Soltek to include that in future bundles.

I
really like the overall boxes that come from Soltek. The Soltek K890 hasn;t changed too much from the K8T in its offerings of components. A
simple run down of what's in the box is addressed in our
previous review located here. An abundance of every cable for every
channel whether IDE or SATA is included in the K890, as well as an
excellent array of software and utilities on 2 CDROMs, and other stuff.

The board is simple, and much like its little KT800 Pro brother, Soltek
does not mandate the use of a 24 pin ATX connector. A 4 pin 12v
connector is located just north of the SP/DIF ports. An active
Northbridge proved to be un-necessary since during our tests, it barely
emits any heat.

The PCI-E slots are seen here, 2 PCI, and
SATA ports. Also notice the debug LED display which is great for
diagnosing problems with your peripherals. Jumpers for disabling
on-board LAN, the Promise SATA RAID, KB wake-up, and CMOS discharge can
also be seen.

The CPU
socket layout is ok for room, although I'm not sure if one of those new Zalman coolers are going to fit. We resort to water cooling or the stock
OEM sink so that won't be a problem for us.

Of course the K890 has 4 DIMM slots.
