The 945P
Express Chipset has been, as the name implies, poised below the Intel's current
flagship desktop chipset - the 955X. The obvious difference between the 955X
and the 945P is the 82945P Memory Controller Hub. The 945P will support DDR2-667
and also carries the Intel Flex Memory Technology which allows users to utilize
Dual Channel memory performance even with different sized memory modules
installed. That 945P chipset will support the dual-core Pentium-D and processors
with a front side bus of 1066MHz. The ICH7R south bridge hangs up to FOUR Serial
ATA ports which utilize the Intel Matrix Storage Technology which opens RAID 0,
RAID 1 and RAID 5 drive solutions to the system. This gives users the capability
of using up to FOUR drives in a RAID array, including RAID-0 mode.

Gigabyte
was among those to quickly adopt the 945P and quickly sent us the GA-8I945P-Pro.
Though the board we received is based on the design that eventually made
its way into the (now available) retail box, it was brown boxed with
only the minimum as far as peripherals and documentation was concerned. Therefore,
I have no boxed product pictures as far as bundled packaging is concerned.
Sorry..........
