Features

The Sis 755FX Chipset

The SiS755FX, a HyperTransport™ to AGP/MuTIOL Bridge, integrates a high performance HyperTransport™ interface for AMD Athlon™ 64FX processor family, AGP interface, and SiS MuTIOL Technology, which connects with SiS964 MuTIOL® Media IO.

The HyperTransport™ interface of SiS755FX features the HyperTransport™ complaint bus driver technology to support AMD Athlon™ 64FX processors up to 2.0GT/s data rate.

The AGP interface of SiS755FX can support external AGP slot with AGP 4X/8X capability and Fast Write Transactions. SiS MuTIOL®, a high bandwidth and mature technology, is incorporated to connect SiS755FX and SiS964 MuTIOL® Media IO together.

SiS MuTIOL® technology is developed into three layers, the Multi-Threaded I/O Link Layer delivering 1.2 GB/s bandwidth to connect embedded DMA Master devices and external PCI masters to interface to Multi-Threaded I/O Link Layer, the Multi-Threaded I/O Link Encoder/Decoder in SiS964 to transfer data with 1GB/s bandwidth from/to Multi-Threaded I/O Link Layer to/from SiS755FX, and the Multi-Threaded I/O Link Encoder/Decoder in SiS755FX to transfer data with 1GB/s from/to memory sub-system to/from the Multi-Threaded I/O Link Encoder/Decoder in SiS964.

The Foxconn offering....

A basic box but seeing as how the socket 754 offering from Foxconn is $25 less than comparable boards, the box is going to be the last thing your money is after.

Opening the box is big surprise. A plethora of items adds a lot of value to this motherboard package. A full software package. IDE, floppy, USB, and SATA cables. Even a SATA power adapter, and the critically important floppy driver disk for the onboard 4xSATA RAID. it looks to me like Foxconn hasn't left anything out...

Onboard accessories galore. Realtek provide for the audio and Ethernet. Sil3112 and SIS included the SATA RAID...Value keeps coming to mind.. Notice the very simple board layout. Its a real shame this board has very little in terms of overclocking options because the layout gives you a lot of options in terms of how big of a heatsink you can throw on the Northbridge (??), and CPU... With this board you could quite easily do that and still have room to spare... Why is there a Northbridge on this motherboard?

A quick look at the rear header of the board reveals SP-dif, IEE1394 firewire, multi channel sound, USB 1.1/2.0, and the typical legacy options.
