OC Guru

One of the best features of the AA8 DuraMAX is the OC Guru in the bios. Overclocking has never been so easy! All the overclocking settings are right here in one screen. You can even tweak your DDR2 speed with the DRAM Frequency ratio setting. And yes, the ratio setting works flawless, unlike many other motherboards out there with similar features.

Test System

We are just about ready for the testing, but let's go over the basics of the test system first.

Hardware Model
Motherboard: ABIT AA8 Duramax
CPU: Intel Pentium 4
3.0GHz
LGA-775
Video Card: ABIT Radeon RX600XT-PCIE
Video Card Driver Version: CATALYST Windows XP 4.9
Memory: Crucial Ballistix PC5300

Testing

First we'll begin with some basic motherboard, CPU and memory tests using SiSoft Sandra.

CPU Arithmetic Benchmark

CPU Multi-Media Benchmark

Memory Bandwidth Benchmark

So far, the default benchmarks have been much better than previous i915 motherboards. Even the DDR2 memory performs great at a ratio of 2:3.
