The Patriot Memory Viper Series kit number PVT36G1600LLK contains three
2GB memory modules.
The packaging looks great, but the plastic cartons securing the
memory modules inside needs some work. We received two separate kits
for testing and all 6 modules in both kits had popped loose and were
rattling around inside the cartons. No evident damage could be seen,
but Patriot Memory definitely needs to work on their packaging to
prevent this in the future.

Once installed, the Viper Series looks tough and mean. Patriot
Memory definitely knows how to please visually. Of course blue is
one of my favorite colors...
The PVT36G1600LLK and the Gigabyte GA-EX58 Compatibility Issue
We originally set out to bring this memory review to you tested on a
Gigabyte GA-EX58 motherboard. Unfortunately things didn't turn out
as we had hoped. As a reviewer, we work closely with manufacturers
to ensure that the product in question is tested fairly and the
manufacturer has every opportunity to provide us with good working
samples. In this review, we ran into compatibility problems with
Gigabyte's GA-EX58. The PVT36G1600LLK WILL NOT run stable on the
Gigabyte GA-EX58 at the memory's rated speed of 1600MHz DDR. We ran through multiple bios
updates, a plethora of settings, and even obtained a second memory
sample from Patriot Memory. Unfortunately, Gigabyte doesn't have a
solution for this issue as of yet. Patriot Memory has informed us
that they are working closely with Gigabyte to resolve this issue as
soon as possible. Unfortunately there isn't a quick fix for this
issue right now. Until there is, we
recommend that you steer clear of the PVT36G1600LLK and Gigabyte GA-EX58
combo.
