Inside the retail box are 2 plastic packages; the
first contains a single 1GB module, the other containing 2.

Unlike some module packaging I've seen, opening
OCZ's plastic packaging doesn't require a saw, hammer and a small
amount of explosives. OCZ's packages snap apart for easy access and
removal of the modules.

Pretty? Yes they are... Although the
heatspreaders don't actually contain platinum, they are quite shinny
and appealing to the eye. Typically, men like shiny stuff so OCZ is
definitely on to something here. I really like OCZ's "Z3" logo
stamped into the heatspreaders. Nice touch...

Notice OCZ's use of a holographic label to help
prevent piracy. Unfortunately there is a lot of this going around
these days with everything from processors to software.
1.5 or 1.65 volts?
I would like to point out the "1.65v" on the
label as well as in the specs. As I just covered in on the previous
page, Intel recommends that the Intel Core i7 process should be used
with DDR3 memory at 1.5 volts, not to exceed 1.65 volts. OCZ's
Triple Channel Platinum series is right at the limits of Intel's
recommended voltage.
