Testing Continued:

Memory Bus Speed: 711MHz
Memory Voltage: 2.2v
Memory Timings: 4-4-4-12
CPU Bus Speed: 275MHz
Final CPU Clock Speed: 1.93GHz (default)

CAS 4   tRCD 4  tRP:4 tRAS 12 @ 2.2 volts

My experience with Crucial memory in the past has shown that Crucial Ballistix memory is some of the most flexible memory when it comes to overclocking.  So to stretch the memory speed a little more I applied a light 275 MHz overclock to my Intel e6300 and loosened up the timings to a 4-4-4-12.  Then I used the next automatic speed setting provided by the ASUS motherboard to boost the Tenth Anniversary modules to 711Mhz. The new Sandra score of 5656/5667 shows our DDR2 still has some room to grow.

Memory Bus Speed: 917MHz
Memory Voltage: 2.2v
Memory Timings: 4-4-4-12
CPU Bus Speed: 275MHz
Final CPU Clock Speed: 1.93GHz (default)

CAS 4   tRCD 4  tRP: 4 tRAS 12 @ 2.2 volts

Bolstered by the continued success, I bumped the modules up to a memory bus speed of 917 MHz!  The Crucial memory boots with no issues and posts a Sandra score of 5748/5768.  But we are not done yet...

Memory Bus Speed: 1000MHz
Memory Voltage: 2.2v
Memory Timings: 4-4-4-12
CPU Bus Speed: 300MHz
Final CPU Clock Speed: 2.1GHz (default)

CAS 4   tRCD 4  tRP: 4 tRAS 12 @ 2.2 volts

Who wouldn't want to buy a set of DDR2-667 and install it only to find you received DDR2-1000?  Well, with the slightly loose timings and a FSB boost to 300 MHz; we have pushed the Crucial DDR2 to the 1000 MHz mark!  To be save I ran the system overnight but no issues developed.  This brings our final Sandra score to 6298/6312.  With some adjusting to the voltage we could easily have found a stable clock over the 1100 MHz mark. Of course the loosened timing do help but these numbers are dangerously close to Crucial's memory costing nearly double the price of these Special Edition modules!

Conclusion

Crucial memory consistently provides the outstanding performance we have grown to expect test after test.  The Tenth Anniversary memory is no exception, showing tremendous versatility in both speed and timings.  The attractive blue Special Edition head spreaders are just sweet icing on the Ballistix cake!  I can only imagine what a  faster processor and some active cooling could do with these modules.  Although these modules are being offered for a limited time, they are still covered by Crucial's industry leading lifetime warranty making the investment in some quality DDR2 an absolute no-brainer!  When I reviewed the Crucial Ballistix DDR2-8000,I speculated on when these high performance modules would reach a more budget friendly price, the Crucial Tenth Anniversary Special Edition Modules have shown that day may have already arrived. Happy Tenth Anniversary Crucial, here's hoping for many more!
