Packaging and Contents

The Transformer 3 comes wrapped in plastic in a very stylish box.

The plastic pack is more than sufficient to protect the Transformer 3 against minor shipping damage. 

     Inside the plastic pack you will find everything you need to install the Transformer 3 onto your AMD or Intel CPU.   All of the hardware you need is also included.  You'll find brackets, screws, washers, nuts, clips, rubber fan mounts and thermal grease.  Don't worry, directions are included.

Layout

     The Transformer 3 has 3 heat pipes that extend through aluminum fins.  You can have up to two 120mm fans attached to the heat sink to help cool. 

     The fan is a 120mm x 120mm x 25mm design that rotates at 2200RPMs.  Because of the relative low RPM speed the noise is low as well.

     The base is aluminum and the copper heat pipes make direct contact with the CPU.  It has a nice finish that is close to having a mirror shine, and it appears to be very flat.
