3DMark CPU Tests

For a closer look at CPU gaming performance, we are going to specifically look at the CPU testing portion of 3DMark06 and 3DMark Vantage.  Higher scores are better in both tests.

Here, the X4 955 does plenty well at stock speeds against its main rival, however, with the overclocks applied, the x3360 pulls ahead by a good margin, beating the X4 955 by 10%. 

In 3DMark Vantage, the Intel chips move up in rank a little bit, with the X4 955 and the x3360 sitting neck and neck at stock speeds.  When overclocked, the Intel architecture widens the gap, hitting a lead of 22.5% at 4GHz, and 16.9% at 3.8GHz.
