While we're taking things
apart, lets just go ahead and remove the top panel from the m998.
This will show you how much room you'll have to work with. Not only
will installing the power supply be a lot easier but so
will working with all of your 5.25 inch drives . The power supply
will get a little anti-vibration dampening from that bar that goes
across the chassis about 3/4 of the way back. It gets mounted by
standard screws that fit through another long slot, so you can move
it to accommodate your own power supply.

Ultra has added a few special
touches, like this one. This is the back of the audio and eSATA port
panel for the front bezel. The USB ports are totally separate from
this panel and are actually located above it, where those two round
white wires are going. So what Ultra has done with this, is make it
interchangeable. You can mount any standard size PCI-type expansion
plate in this spot. So, if you don't want the eSATA and audio ports
up front, you can replace it with something like the four USB
expansion ports that come with most motherboards.

It's been a while since I've
seen a removable motherboard tray, and I can't say I really missed
them. Usually, the tray was a little loose inside the chassis and
was a noisy source for vibration. Ultra has made that irritation a
thing of the past. Not only does the tray fit fairly snug, but it
also gets a little extra reinforcement from a pair of screws that
will hold it in place, one each on the top and bottom.
The tray is made from highly
polished stainless steel that will make a very nice surface for
lights to reflect from inside the chassis. The tray is large enough
to accommodate an extended ATX size motherboard. At the very edge of
the tray we can see the Ultra Power bar.
